November 17th
Book Week has arrived! We look forward to author visits, special book activities and dressing up on Thursday for those who wish to. We will also have Book Night on Wednesday and we hope you will visit our stall and see the results of all of the children’s hard work over the past few weeks. Next week I am expecting to hear from some new friends who desperately need help from P2/1. I’m sure they will rise to the challenge as always!

P2/1 have made a good start to our houses and homes project with writing and art linked to this. The current Big Choose topic is fairytales which is always very popular with the children and a favourite of mine too. We will also be busy preparing our wares for the enterprise stall on Book Night which we look forward to selling. We have started our sessions with Mrs De Feu which provide a fantastic opportunity for the children to create some super art work using a range of materials and techniques.

It was lovely to welcome back the children this week, all bursting with tales of their holidays which I trust you all enjoyed also. This week we began our new topic of ‘Houses and Homes’ and I would like to appeal for any unwanted shoeboxes you have at home which we will use to build models of homes. Spelling and reading homework will resume as normal. Thank you for returning PLPs so promptly, please send in any more when you have the chance. I look forward to meeting you once more next week.
