| P3 trip to Edinburgh Zoo by Maddie First we went to the bus. I was happy on the bus. My partner was Isla. She was excited too. We went to the Discovery Centre. Most of us held the animals. It hurt when the cockroaches went on my hand. We went to the Zoo because our project is Senses. I had a great time and I wished that we could stay longer. It was fun. I had a great lunch. It was very yummy. I sat with Katy. She enjoyed her lunch too. After that we went to Rainbow Landings. |

Primary 3 seem very excited about their new topic - Toys, Games and Rules. Thank you to the parents who have sent in photographs of themselves as children - very brave of you! Perhaps I should bring in a photo of myself on a space hopper clutching a Pippa doll in one hand and a slinky in the other!
Normal reading homework may not be set this week but rest assured we will be doing plenty of reading in class because as you know it is Book Week. The children are welcome to bring in their own books to share but please bear in mind, we will not be able to talk about them all. The author Simon Puttock is coming in to see us next week which we are all very excited about - we have been making our very own 'Mademoiselle Gorilla' in his honour. Primary 3 and myself look forward to seeing you at our Enterprise evening where we will be selling school tea towels -we have produced one for P1-3 and one for P4-7. For those of you with children in both upper and lower school, we could probably do you a deal....!
Maths and problem solving will be concentrating on addition and the children will also be having PE, Music and Drama.
November 10th
I hope your children have told you all about our 'sense-ational' assembly. The children did a fantastic job and all the teachers have been complimenting them on their behaviour and performance. Well done Primary 3!
Next week we will be continuing with addition strategies in Maths and in writing we will be doing our diaries, handwriting and story writing. ICT this week will involve working in groups with the smartboard and Bee-Bots. We also have PE with Mrs Malone and music with Mrs Sharp. We start our new Environmental Studies topic - the children will find out what it is next week!!
November 3rd
Next week looks set to be very busy with Parent's night and the primary 3 assembly. I look forward to meeting you all on Monday or Tuesday to talk about your children and how they've settled into Primary 3. The children are very excited about their assembly which is all about the 5 Senses. They do not have to learn their words but if you could go over any words and songs with them it would be very much appreciated. In between assembly preparations we will be rounding off our Senses topic, continuing with addition in Maths and 'setting the scene' in language. The children will also have PE and Music specialists.
