Outings and Events for P7
P7 Rugby Festival
by Rachel

On the 13th October 2008, P7 went to the Rugby Festival at the Rugby Club. We got there at 9.30. We got off the bus and we were the only school there. I thought we were at the wrong club. Eventually the other schools arrived and we got started. My team were Argentina and the team we played first was Samoa (St Joseph’s). We beat them 1-0. Our next match was against Scotland (Winchburgh) and we beat them 2-1. I was so tired. My legs hurt and my gum shield hurt as well but I didn’t care because we were on a winning streak. We got moved up to the next pitch.
We played South Africa (Linlithgow Bridge) and we drew 2-2. We played France (Linlithgow Primary) but we lost 4-1 to them. We drew to Tonga (Springfield) 1-1 and we lost to Ireland (Springfield) 2-0. Our last match was against USA (Linlithgow Primary) and we lost 2-1.
At the end of all the matches the best teams went head to head. It was Ireland V Canada. Ireland won 2-1. They won a cup and a rugby hat. There was also a good sportsmanship award and Low Port won it. That was the highlight of the whole festival. We had a great time and I would definitely do it again!

November 17th

We're looking forward to Book Week and are already planning activities for what will be a busy week! On Monday, Primary 7 and Primary 1 Buddies will have time together in the afternoon to share their favourite books. Primary 7 children should remember to bring their book in then. We'll be putting the finishing touches to our Enterprise stall goods, in preparation for the Enterprise Fair and Book Night on Wednesday. It will be lovely to see you there. Madame Cohen will be in class on Wednesday afternoon for French, always a highlight! Katie Grant, the author, will visit us on Thursday. Primary 7 have been looking at her books and finding out about her work on the Internet. Book Week Assembly is on Thursday and we have Art with Mrs du Feu on Friday. Hopefully all the 'books for buddies' will be finished by the end of the week and we'll present them to the Primary 1 children on Thursday or Friday. It's also very apt that we'll be starting Literature Circles next week!

November 10th

It was lovely to see everyone on Monday and Tuesday and I hope you enjoyed seeing what the children have been learning. Next week we will spend a lot of time organising our Enterprise stall for Book Night. Everyone is working very hard on this and there are some super ideas. We're hoping to start Literature Circles next week too. In Environmental Studies we'll continue learning about 'Space'.
We'll be busy in Art on Wednesday afternoon and we have Assembly with the minister on Thursday.
Well done to Aaron on his competition win. We're all very pleased and we know he'll have a fantastic time in London with his family and friends.

November 3rd

Literature Circles will start very soon and next week we will be discussing and organising this. The Reading Assignments are very impressive and I look forward to reading them all. The children have had a chance to look at them and have carried out some Peer Assessments already. A great deal of work has obviously been put into these - thank you for your support! Joan Lingard will visit us on Wednesday and this is a definite highlight of the week! It will be lovely to see the Primary 3 assembly on Thursday too. We also have French on Wednesday afternoon with Mme. Cohen and Art with Mrs du Feu on Friday. We'll be continuing out Enterprise work with our P.1 Buddies, learning with them to make bookmarks in I.C.T. Great fun!! I look forward to seeing you on Monday or Tuesday next week.
